GM Joins with the Bill Clinton Foundation for Haiti Relief

Miami, Florida: Tuesday, February 10, 2010: In an effort to bring immediate aid and comfort to earthquake stricken Haiti a fleet of thirty rugged GMC Sierra trucks packed with supplies boarded a ship provided by the William J. Clinton Foundation and set sail to the Caribbean nation from Miami. The strong and sturdy vehicles are well equipped to traverse the devastated Haitian terrain to reach survivors and to facilitate transportation of much needed supplies following the 7.0 earthquake of January 12. The GM Foundation donated the trucks following President Bill Clintons recent public call for vehicles to support recovery efforts. President Clinton currently serves as UN Special Envoy for Haiti. The supplies were donated from universities and organizations in the USA and Canada. The donation of the trucks is a contribution from the General Motors Foundation GM Global Aid program. The donation of the trucks, which were built by the GM team in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, is a contribution from the General Motors Foundation GM Global Aid program. In addition to the donation of these 30 GMC trucks, the GM Foundations total giving for Haitian Relief is $100000 in cash. An additional $250000 was raised on Saturday, January 23, by the auction of a limited-edition Chevrolet Corvette at the 39th annual Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction. Additional donations are being collected at US auto shows. All monies for Haiti relief efforts will be presented to the American Red Cross. Bader TV ...
